Silver Fields Applies For Manitoba Coal Exploration Permits
Silver Fields Resources Inc. (SF.TSX.V) (“Silver Fields”) (“the Company”) is pleased to announce the Company has applied to the Government of Manitoba for a coal exploration permit on two sections of land close to the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border. The decision was prompted by examination of Manitoba Geological Survey maps which indicate that the area is underlain by the Swan River formation of the same Cretaceous age as the Goldsource Mines Inc. recent coal discovery.
The permitting process in Manitoba is considerably more expensive than in Saskatchewan, however management felt it was prudent to acquire an initial block of land for exploration, as traditionally, coal deposits are quite extensive and it would be highly unlikely they would end at the border. Further acquisitions will be considered as Company geologists continue to do due diligence.
Recently Silver Fields has applied for permits in Saskatchewan covering 2 townships, totalling over 18,000 hectares.
Dr. K. Warren Geiger, Ph.D., P. Eng., P.Geo., a Qualified Person for Silver Fields, as defined by NI 43-101, is currently co-ordinating the research of the development in east-central Saskatchewan and west-central Manitoba.
